A presente revisão relata a historia taxonômica de Vernonieae Cass., tribo da família Asteraceae, de ocorrência pantropical, com provável origem nas regiões tropicais, sendo apontado o sul do Brasil e a África tropical como centros de dispersão. São apresentadas, para o Brasil, revisões desde o seu estabelecimento, em 1815, por Cassini, até os dias atuais. Os trabalhos foram comentados em ordem cronológica de estabelecimento para os gêneros, ressaltando os estudos mais relevantes para a taxonomia.Downloads
