Esta revisão, de cunho histórico, tem três objetivos. O primeiro, compor um novo capítulo da série de quatro seções de revisões programátricas sobre o tema: “O gênero Meloidogyne e a Meloidoginose”. As Partes I e II foram publicadas no periódico “Revisão Anual de Plantas” (RAPP), nos anos 1996 e 1997, respectivamente. Esta, portanto, é a Parte III. Em segundo lugar, esta publicação visa organizar o histórico da taxonomia do nematoide- das-galhas e dos assinalamentos da doença meloidoginose, em sequência cronológica, permitindo a expçosição de valiosa relação de bibliografia para os estudiosos desse importantíssimo grupo de fitopatógeno. Finalmente, por meio desta publicação, é prestada homenagem, in memoriam, àquele que foi um dos expoentes da Fitopatologia e da Nematologia brasileira: o Prof. Dr. José Júlio da Ponte.Downloads
