Abstract

The present paper is based upon institutional data related to the results ofthe last four annual screenings of projects submitted by Brazilian researchersto the Research Fellowship Program (Pq) of the Conselho Nacional deDesenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). Also, it is presented an analytical view of the results of the last three Nationwide Grant Programs(Universal Calls) issued more recently. It is part of the CNPq policy to informthe Brazilian scientific community and assure transparency of its internaldecisions, which follows the recommendations of the advisory committeesin order to achieve the best investment of the public funds in science andtechnology in agricultural sciences.
