Abstract

The aim of this paper was to make the first report on the occurrence of thevinegar nematode (Turbatrix aceti), in the state of Pernambuco, northeasternBrazil. This report stands as the first for the northeast region and probablyfor Brazil. The spoiled vinegar had a muddy appearance, atypical smell andconstant association with a nematode having rapid movements. Theidentification of the organism was made through the analysis of the grossmorphology and morphometry of males and females.
