Dialogism, dialogical relations and the word as a signical unit

guiding principles of bakhtinian theory

Abstract

Researches in the field of Bakhtinian studies often focus on dialogism, brought as a synonym for various dialogues/voices inside the discourse. In this article, however, it is proposed to discuss not only dialogism as a constitutive principle of language, but also dialogic relations that is a methodology/epistemology of Dialogical Discourse Analysis (DDA). That conceives the altering relations which occur in different enunciative modalizations and, it is in this context that the present work establishes a conceptual in(distinction) of the terms. In the same field, Metalinguistics, defended by Bakhtin in Problems of Dostoevsky's Poetics (1929), contributed in a fundamental way to the construction of a philosophical aesthetic that puts the self and the other in unrelenting dialogue, refutation, and inconclusiveness that converge in short to an analysis of the word as a sign representation, which enters the semantic-ideological context and assumes different evaluative nuances in each communicational context. The undertaken analysis in this work of qualitative typology is guided in addition by the theoretical-methodological principles of Bakhtin (1929; 1997; 2010; 2013) and Voloshinov (2017; 2019), based on Brait (2013), who points out the verb-visuality, Kristeva (2012) who punctuates intertextuality, Stella (2005), who asserts the word sign, among other theorists, theorized in the course of the work.
