REFLEXÕES SOBRE IDENTIDADE E CONSUMISMO NO CONTEXTO DA PÓS-MODERNIDADE

Abstract

The present study aims to consider how consumerism impacts on the formation of the subjects' identity in the contemporaneity context, intending to define the fundamental concepts to discuss the problematic through a literature review and to relate the perspectives of different scholars in the area, making inferences on the process, in order to raise reflections and point directions to the exposed problem, either in deepening on the issue or in the search for solutions. At the end of the research, it was possible to verify the relationship between consumerism and identity, since consumption acts by identifying subjects and communicating, mainly in a context of displacement from the solid-modern society of producers to the liquid-modern society of consumers.
