Resumen

Haemophilus parasuis é o agente etiológico da doença de Glässer e causa graves prejuízos econômicos na indústria suína.  O diagnóstico da doença é baseado na associação do histórico clínico do rebanho, isolamento da bactéria e sorotipagem. O difícil controle do agente e das co-infecções tornam-se imprescindível o uso de tratamentos estratégicos e programas vacinais, conjugados com boas práticas de manejo. Esta revisão apresenta uma abordagem geral da Doença de Glässer e discute os aspectos epidemiológicos, diagnóstico, imunidade, prevenção e controle.
