Erisipela suína: uma revisão

O gênero Erysipelothrix é responsável por processos patológicos em animais e humanos. Durante várias décadas, a espécie Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae foi o único membro descrito no gênero Erysipelothrix. Atualmente, oito espécies e 28 sorotipos (1,2-26-N) estão caracterizados. Os sorotipos 1 e 2 representam mais de 80% dos isolados de E. rhusiopathiae, sendo associados à erisipela suína. A enfermidade tem sido controlada por vacinação, mas registros de casos clínicos têm causado preocupações sobre o ressurgimento da doença em países com produções relevantes de suínos. Esta revisão apresenta uma abordagem geral sobre a erisipela suína e discute os aspectos etiológicos, epidemiológicos, fatores de virulência, patogenia, diagnóstico, prevenção e controle bem como as implicações em saúde pública.Descargas
